ASAP Accelerator Partnership Program

We are seeking trusted partners with established track records of identifying, mentoring, and guiding high-impact SME’s in their path to growth.

About Us

Who are We?
ASAP is an ecosystem-system building exercise that seeks to identify and support SMEs that offer the technologies, products, and services, which can enhance the resilience and adaptation of their users and customers in response to a changing climate across Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. We are a grant-funded initiative led by The Lightsmith Group and supported by the Global Environment Facility (with Conservation International as the project’s implementation agency), the Inter-American Development Bank, and IDB Labs.

About the Program

Who are You?
We would like to partner with experienced accelerators that are plugged into entrepreneurial landscapes, have access to regionally based advisors, and have run successful cohort programs across at least one of the following regions: Africa, Asia, or Latin America and the Caribbean. Our ideal partner would be able to hit-the-ground running by applying existing expertise and program resources to structure, launch, recruit, and mentor a select group of Adaptation SMEs across regions via a cohort-based accelerator program. Organizations with an established reputation in sectors that overlap with climate adaptation and resilience, including food and agriculture, risk analytics, climate technology, software, insurance, water, transportation, energy, infrastructure, or those that have the in-house capacity to expand programming towards climate resilience and ESG more broadly, would be preferred.

What are we offering?
We are seeking a partner to help us build a supportive ecosystem of geographically and sectorally diversified climate adaptation start-ups and SMEs. In this effort, Lightsmith would supplement the partners’ existing programs with bespoke content and toolkits designed specifically for Adaptation SMEs. We would provide you with the knowledge and tools to become familiar with the ASAP taxonomy, which is a key methodology for identifying Adaptation SMEs. However, we would expect you to have sufficient in-house capacity to apply the framework in building the curriculum and managing the selection process. At the conclusion of the formal partnership, we envision continuing our collaboration to support the cohort of SMEs in scaling their products, services, and technologies across markets.
