Griyum raises its crickets through a decentralized production network which is managed by the company itself. The company provides the education, technology, and access to the market to each of its sharecroppers. Griyum's cricket-based flour is much more sustainable and requires minimal resources to produce when compared to traditional flours. Additionally, it is high in nutritional value with 65 grams of protein. With land and water resources becoming more scarce, Griyum hopes that its product can help meet food demand. Griyum also hopes to address food insecurity in its home country, Mexico.
